The right atrium and ventricle have been opened in clam-shell fashion and this anterior view of the atrial septum demonstrates an abnormally large, redundant flap valve (primary atrial septum) at the floor of the oval fossa resulting in aneurysmal protrusion into the right atrium. The tricuspid valve guards the inlet of the right ventricle. |
