The International Society for Nomenclature of Paediatric and Congenital Heart Disease (ISNPCHD) was constituted in January of 2005 with the overall mission of unifying terminology for paediatric and congenital cardiac care. The “International Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Code” (IPCCC) is the product of the initial mission of the ISNPCHD. Nomenclature for Congenital and Paediatric Cardiac Disease.

Supported by the World Health Organization, after decades of international meetings and deliberation, the ISNPCHD generated the definitions to populate the IPCCC. The codes and definitions are the foundation for the International Classification of Disease (ICD-11) congenital and pediatric cardiac disease codes.

The current endeavor of the Society is to generate the “IPCCC ICD-11 Congenital Heart Atlas”. The Atlas will provide, within the structure of the IPCCC and ICD-11, images of anatomical specimen, echocardiograms, cardiac MRI, cardiac angiograms and surgical images of congenital heart defects.

Cardiology in the Young, published by Cambridge University Press, is the official journal of the ISNPCHD. www.journals.cambridge.org/cty, providing a resource for the ISNPCHD work.
