Definition: A doubly committed subarterial ventricular septal defect that is contiguous with the membranous septum.
Commentary: This ventricular septal defect has fibrous continuity
between an arterial and an atrioventricular valve, along with fibrous
continuity between the arterial valves. |
Modality: Anatomic specimen Orientation: Right ventricular view Description: This image is of a juxtaarterial, doubly committed ventricular septal defect that illustrates the subarterial nature of the defect with the superior border formed by fibrous continuity (red dots) between the pulmonary (PV) and aortic valves (AoV). This defect extends to become perimembranous as well.
