Modality: Anatomic specimen Orientation: Lateral view Description: The tricuspid valve is viewed laterally through the opened, dilated, morphologically right atrium. The tricuspid valve is dysplastic with thickened, rolled edges. The right atrial dilatation is indicative of the tricuspid valve insufficiency. The oval fossa is probe patent. This specimen also has anomalies of the pulmonary veins, illustrated in its companion web page. Contributor: Diane E. Modality: Anatomic specimen Orientation: Anterior view Description: This anterior anatomic view of the septal surface of the right atrioventricular junction demonstrates the dysplastic nature of the tricuspid valve. The leaflets are short, thickened and rolled along the edges. The tendinous cords are sparse and short. Contributor: Diane E.
