Modality: Anatomic specimen Orientation: Anterior view Description: The anterior, anatomic view demonstrates the normal relationship of the aorta and pulmonary trunk as they exit the ventricular mass. The brachiocephalic arteries arise in the normal fashion from the aortic arch. The arch extends to the left. The arterial duct is in its usual position and is widely patent. (SCV - superior caval vein, BCT - brachiocephalic trunk, LCCA - left common carotid artery, LSA - left subclavian artery). Contributor: Diane E. Modality: Anatomic specimen Orientation: Anterior view Description: The same view as seen in NromADa with the anterior walls of the aorta, pulmonary trunk and arterial duct cut away. This nicely demonstrates the patent arterial duct and its relationship to the pulmonary trunk and aorta.
