Modality: Anatomic specimen

Orientation: Anterior view

Description: A window has been cut in the free wall of this hypoplastic right ventricle. There are concordant ventriculo-arterial connections and a ventricular septal defect.  The right atrioventricular valve is directed toward the left ventricle with the cordal attachments extending to the border of the ventricular septal defect (red dots) and into the left ventricle.

Modality: Anatomic specimen

Orientation: Lateral view

Description: A window has been cut in the free wall of the right atrial appendage.  The right atrioventricular valve is clearly committed to the left ventricle with a small portion of the interventricular septum visible toward the anterior aspect of the valve.

Modality: Anatomic specimen

Orientation: Posterior view

Description: The dominant left ventricle has been opened in a clam-shell fashion to show the double inlet.  The right and left atrioventricular valves are in fibrous continuity with each other as well as with the aortic valve.  The tendinous cords of the right atrioventricular valve attach to the border of the ventricular septal defect (red dots) and onto the septal surface of the left ventricle.
