Modality: Anatomic specimen Orientation: Right ventricular view Description: This anatomic view of a double outlet right ventricle has been opened in a clam shell fashion with the tricuspid valve guarding the inlet and both the aorta and pulmonary artery forming the outlet component. In this case, the outlet septum is fibrous, rather than muscular (red arrows). The ventricular septal defect is subaortic and is not perimembranous with a postero-inferior muscular rim (yellow dots) that separates the tricuspid and aortic valve leaflets.
