Modality: Anatomic specimen

Orientation: Anterior superior view

Description: This anterior superior view of the aorta (A) and pulmonary trunk (PT) show the normal relationships between the two vessels as they exit the ventricular mass. The right coronary artery (RCA) and the left anterior descending (left anterior interventricular) coronary artery (LAIV) originate from the left (main) coronary artery (LMCA).  The right coronary artery extends anterior to the pulmonary trunk to reach the right atrioventricular groove. The circumflex coronary artery (not seen) also originates from the left (main) coronary artery. (SCV-superior caval vein, RAA-right atrial appendage, PAD-patent arterial duct, DA-descending aorta)

Modality: Anatomic specimen

Orientation: Left superior view

Description: Left sided view of the same heart with the left lung and the left atrial appendage (LAA) retracted to show the left (main) coronary artery (LMCA) as it originates from the aorta (not seen). The right coronary artery (RCA), the left anterior descending (left anterior interventricular) coronary artery (LAIV) and the circumflex coronary artery (CX) all originate from the left (main) coronary artery. The right coronary artery encircles the pulmonary trunk as it extends to the right atrioventricular groove
