Modality: Anatomic specimen Orientation: Four chamber view Description: This four chamber view shows concordant atrioventricular connections with aneurysmal dilatation of the flap valve of the oval fossa. The oval fossa is patent (POF) along the anterior superior margin and there is a small amount of adherent thrombus on the left atrial (LA) aspect. Within the right atrium (RA) there is a large thrombus adherent to the atrial roof that extended in to the superior caval vein. There was a mid septal, restrictive ventricular septal defect (black arrow), the majority of the defect not visualized in this section.
